Aircraft Shot and Recovery Log Web. The purpose of the NAVAIR Aircraft Shot and Recovery Log Web (ASRLW) pilot program is to improve the collaborative data collection, distribution, reporting, and data sharing processes for the maintenance logs used to record catapult and arresting gear wear and maintenance data from the Aircraft Carrier flight deck to V-2 Maintenance. The ASRLW pilot system eliminates the duplicate data entry and paper processes associated with the current ASRL system for collection and distribution of the data which is a combination of a paper based data entry and duplicate data entry on a standalone stovepiped legacy system. The ASRLW pilot program successfully demonstrates process improvement and associated workload reduction for V-2 maintenance division sailors by reducing time, cost, and errors in the collection, storage, and distribution of this critical flight safety information. The time saved averages 30 man-hours per day and results in an improved quality of life for V-2 sailors who often work 24x7 during flight operations on board Navy Aircraft Carriers. The pilot improves shipboard performance by providing an avenue in which to conduct standardized training on how to correctly record critical Aircraft Shot and Recovery Log data.
